Embedding Video on Wikis or EduBlogs:

 

Here are the How Tos to get you started (once your video is created)

 

Uploading Video to TeacherTube:

  1. If you do not have an account on teachertube.comyou will need to sign up for one.
  2. Once you have your account log in and click on the “Upload” Button.
  3. Fill in the requested info: Title of the Video, a brief description, tags (tags are key words that people will search with).
  4. Select 1-3 “channels” that fit your video post. Once again this helps people in searching.
  5. Click Continue
  6. Click on the Browse Button and locate your movie file.
  7. Choose if you want the video to be public or private and click “Upload Video.”
  8. That’s it! Once the video is loaded TeacherTube will provide you with a url address to send to people so you can share your video.

Uploading Video to YouTube:

     1. You will need to set up an account with Youtube.

     2. Youtube will send an e-mail to verify that the e-mail given to them is valid. Click on the link in the e-mail.

     3. Click on button at the top titled upload.

     4. For more information, you can read through the YouTube handbook.

 

 

How to Embed Video:

Find the embed code:

 

  1. Go to the TeacherTube or YouTube video you want to embed.
  2. Scroll down the page until you see the code labeled”Embeddable” on the right side of screen.
  3. Highlight that code and press “Ctrl C”
  4. Paste the code into the widget using the steps according to the specific blog or wiki.

 

CAUTION: When embedding videos from YouTube, etc. After the video is played it suggests other videos to watch which may or may not be appropriate for students.

 

Embedding video on WikiSpaces:

 

  1. Open the page to edit mode.
  2. Click on the TV icon – “Embed Widget”
  3. Choose the “Video” option and click on the video source. Embedding video allows it to be played from the wiki, but it is not loaded on the wiki, saving you file space.
  4. paste the Embed code for the video in the space provided.

 

Embedding video on pbwiki:

 

     1.     Open the page to edit mode.

     2.     Click on "Insert Plugin".

     3.     Choose Video.

     4.     Choose Youtube if the video is on youtube.

     5.     Paste either the embed code or the URL that you copied in youtube.

     6.     Click on preview.  The video will appear in the window.  If it is the correct video, click OK. 

             (You may need to click above the video to see the bottom of the window to see OK or cancel.)
