Embedding video allows it to be played from a site, but it is not loaded on the site saving you file space.
How to Embed Video:
Find the embed code:
- Go to the TeacherTube or YouTube video you want to embed.
- Scroll down the page until you see the code labeled”Embeddable” on the right side of screen.
- In YouTube, click on the circular widget at the end of the code box to customize the code. You can change the color of the player and disable the suggested related videos that launch after the video plays.
- Highlight that code and press “Ctrl C”
- Paste the code into the widget using the steps according to the specific blog or wiki.
CAUTION: When embedding videos from YouTube, etc. After the video is played it suggests other videos to watch which may or may not be appropriate for students. You can disable this feature by using a customized code and following the directions below.
Embedding video on Wikispaces:
- Open the page to edit mode.
- Click on the TV icon – “Embed Widget”
- Choose the “Other HTML” option.
- Paste the embed code for the video in the space provided.
- Click "Save" on the embed widget menu.
- Click "Save" on the editing toolbar.
Note: If the video option is selected in the "Embed Widget" menu to embed the code, the video will not have any customized features that were selected when copying the code.
Embedding video on Blogger:
- Open a new post.
- Click on the "Edit HTML" tab at the top left corner of the text box.
- Paste the embed code into the text box at the location you want the video to appear.
- Click "Publish Post" or click on the "Compose" tab to continue typing text.
